The South Shore Retirement Services Advisor Team

Helping people in and around Hingham do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason.

Mark Rowlette

CEO & Founder | Investment Adviser Representative

Mark founded SSRS to do what the big firms wouldn't: treat people like people, and plan for the whole picture, not just the portfolio.

Mark grew up in Dublin, where, as he’ll tell you… stories are everything. He came to the U.S. for what was meant to be a two-month summer on Martha’s Vineyard and never left. After more than twenty-five years in the industry, much of it watching large firms talk only about investments, he founded South Shore Retirement Services on a simple principle: do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason, and never forget that people are people, not numbers on a spreadsheet. Today, he leads a team that plans across all five areas of retirement for families across the South Shore. When he’s not at the Hingham office, you’ll likely find him offshore past Stellwagen Bank, fishing for tuna.

Joseph Cahill

Investment Adviser Representative

The kid who insisted on being the banker in family Monopoly, Joe lives for the moment a client realizes they can actually retire.

Born and raised in Falmouth, Joe Cahill always had a head for numbers and a heart for helping people, as the youngest of three, he was the one who insisted on being the banker during family Monopoly. He launched his financial career in 2014 in banking, with roles at TD Wealth and J.P. Morgan Chase, where he discovered how rewarding it was to guide people toward real milestones. As an advisor, he’s known for pairing analytical problem-solving with genuine relationship-building, treating every client as a person, not a portfolio. His favorite part of the job is presenting a finished plan and watching the relief wash over someone who finally knows they can choose their retirement date. Outside the office, Joe hikes, chases live music, explores new restaurants, and writes and performs his own songs. Dream retirement trip: Sicily and Ireland.
